Cave Point County Park | Blaine and Christy's Intimate International Wedding on the Bluffs

On a Tuesday evening along the shores of Lake Michigan, Blaine and Christy said “I do.” It goes without saying that weddings are special days, but what made this one really take my breath away were the lengths everyone took just to be there. Not only did Blaine’s parents make the trip from Colorado, but Christy’s family flew all the way from China; even her family’s cat, Sprite, was there in spirit.

I cried at my wedding when I saw my wife walking down the aisle towards me. I remember being confused because my brain didn’t understand why I was crying, but it was happening nonetheless. Something similar happened to Blaine when he saw Christy in her dress, and the sight of his tears made Christy cry too.

“Why are you crying?” she asked him.

“I don’t know,” he said. “I’m just so happy right now!”

Christy let out a sigh of relief and grinned sheepishly. “You made me cry because I thought you were changing your mind.”

“Oh my gosh, no,” Blaine explained, “I will never change my mind!”
