Beachfront Inn | Sara and Patrick's Relaxed Lakeside Wedding
I love Sara and Patrick; they’re relaxed, have great personalities, and are a lot of fun to be around. Heck, when I asked what’s the most important photograph for me to capture, they said pictures with their dog Jack. As you can see, Jack was definitely one of the biggest stars of the day, but I didn’t think I’d take “pictures with Jack” so literally.
As the ceremony was coming to an end, I had to get a good angle for the ring exchange and first kiss. Traditionally I’ll find a spot in the center aisle for these shots, but without an aisle I decided to sit in the sand right in front. The moment I was in my spot, I felt something fuzzy on my left arm.
I turned to find Jack, his leash stretched as far as it could from Patrick’s mother in the front row, sitting right beside me. I smiled, wrapped my left arm around him, and continued shooting with my right hand. The photographs of the ring exchange and first kiss? Yeah, I took those “pictures with Jack” alright :)
After the ceremony and family formals, Sara and Patrick walked back down to the beach. I followed them to begin their newlywed portraits, but I had to pause because I found them searching for sea glass with Patrick’s daughter Amelie. This was my favorite moment from the day; it was their first memory as an “official” family.
