Sturgeon Bay | Mindy and Jake
Baileys Harbor Ridges Park | Mallory and Justin
The second request was to feature her dog Jordy (yes, named after Jordy Nelson) in a few images. In fact, in our early stages of emailing Mallory said, “don’t judge, but I've totally bought a sign already for Jordy to wear.” No judgement at all, I would probably do the same thing!
Sturgeon Bay's Crossroads at Big Creek | Ellen and Jon's Engagement Session
We harvested milkweed seeds along the way, carefully pinching each pod’s center to reveal the cottony fluff inside. Maybe one pod would have been enough back when we were seven; we are grown now, our hands more capable of holding nature’s treasures but just as willing to let them go. Three pods will do.
All Over Ephraim | Nancy and Nate's Engagement Session
Looking back, I find it poetic that Nancy noticed my tattoo while standing beside Nate under a maple tree (she saw the extended trunk under my rolled sleeve and asked if it was a wand from Harry Potter). How have Nancy and Nate’s lives brought them to this point under the tree? How do they feel about each other as their fingers intertwine? Where will their journey bring them next?
Sturgeon Bay's Crossroads at Big Creek | Madeline and Jack's Engagement Session
“One, two……”
On “two,” their eyes nearly popped out of their skulls and Jack pointed behind me at a man walking the trails.
Sturgeon Bay's Crossroads at Big Creek | Carly and Chris
In F.R.I.E.N.D.S season 7 episode 5, “The One with the Engagement Picture,” Monica and Chandler try to get a professional engagement photograph for the newspaper. Despite having a great natural smile, Chandler struggles in front of the camera and instead makes an expression simply known as “The Face.”
All Over Ephraim | Tara and Adam's Engagement Session
I’m privileged as a wedding/engagement photographer because I’m the same age as many of my couples, so it’s incredibly easy to relate with each other. Adam, Tara, and myself spent two hours together, and honestly it felt like three friends hanging out where one friend has to press buttons from time to time. We talked about everything: home ownership, running the Bix 7, our love for cats, different ways to keep cereal from getting soggy, the list goes on and on. The actual “photography” is such a small portion of my sessions, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Sturgeon Bay's Quarterdeck Marina | Scott and Heidi's Calendar Session
If you aren’t familiar with their story, Scott needed a kidney transplant in 2016, and Heidi stepped up when multiple willing people were determined not to be good donor candidates. Although Heidi’s kidney was not a match for Scott, she enrolled in the University of Wisconsin Health Transplant Kidney Exchange Program. Within a month, Scott and Heidi were matched with another couple in the same situation, and Heidi was able to donate a kidney to them in exchange for a kidney for Scott. Since their surgeries, Heidi and Scott have made full recoveries and become avid ambassadors for organ transplant. In fact, their dog Dottie isn’t named after her spots, but after the organ donation dot on their drivers’ licenses.
