Garden Gables | Leah and Les's Champagne and Cake Wedding

COVID-19 hit the wedding industry particularly hard. Not only have most couples postponed their 2020 weddings to 2021, but some have even opted to cancel completely.

I was thrilled when Rachel at Pink Door Events called me with a unique way to give back. It was called Champagne and Cake, and the goal was to find a couple whose wedding was severely affected by COVID-19 and give them the celebration of their dreams.

Once our team of wedding professionals was assembled, we sorted through many Champagne and Cake submissions before choosing Leah and Les. Leah and Les had a long engagement to allow Leah to finish her masters degree before the wedding, and the extra time allowed them to plan their perfect celebration. However, once COVID-19 hit, they had to cancel their wedding and circumstances wouldn’t allow them to reschedule; before they were selected in the Champagne and Cake giveaway, they were going to sell Leah’s dress on eBay and have a courthouse wedding instead.
