Intimate Backyard Wedding | Hannah and Alex Celebrate Along Lake Michigan

In a log cabin along Lake Michigan, Alex poured a glass of whiskey with his best friend. For such a big day, life was slow and easy. The Jack Daniel’s was a wedding gift from Hannah, his soon-to-be-wife, who was getting ready in her parents’ home a few doors down.

Unlike the quiet cabin, there was more hustle and bustle in Hannah’s room; all hands were busily transforming her into a bride. After her dress was on, shoes were ready, and her veil fitted, Hannah shared a few tears with her maid of honor and a special moment with her father. It was nearly time, so Hannah slipped into the backyard to steal a minute with her future husband.

Alex was humbled, “How do I voice to you the depths of my heart? Where could I begin?”

With eyes weeping, Hannah replied, “I have dreamed of this day for what seems like my entire life. But until I met you, it was only that - a dream; something far in the future that would maybe happen someday. Ever since you walked into my life, you have been making my dreams become reality.”

Hannah and Alex’s ceremony was held at Mount Olive Church just south of Sturgeon Bay. After the ceremony, we drove to La Salle Park for a short newlywed session before returning to Hannah’s family’s home for first dances and cake cutting to conclude our four hours of photography coverage. Without further ado, enjoy a few of our highlights :)
