Casadont Family Christmas | Large Family Photography Session

The holidays are a time for family reunions, and for the Casadont crew that means several flights from California back to Sturgeon Bay. If you’re thinking of hiring a photographer for your family, I’d love to walk you through my process.

First and foremost, we started with a photograph of the whole family. We wanted to be as efficient as we could since it was a cold December day, so we met inside and practiced lining up. Once everyone knew who they were standing next to, we quickly arranged in the front yard and got everyone back inside in 30 seconds. Quick and easy!

After we had our main large family image, we took turns with each individual family while everyone else warmed up. Once each individual family had a formal photograph, we could be creative with other groupings such as all the grandchildren, all the adult children, or family members who were particularly close. If there was a picture they wanted, now was the time to get it!

Family sessions last an hour, and we completed the formal shots with 15 minutes remaining. To round out the time, we grabbed a few last second candids before calling it a day. Two business days later, they received their online gallery with 67 photographs to use how they pleased. That’s what it’s like to have a family reunion photoshoot with me :)
