Cherry Blossoms at Robertson Orchard and Door County's Crossroads at Big Creek | Danny and Victoria's 1st Anniversary

I think I may be the luckiest photographer in the world because I keep finding fantastic couples to work with. Seriously, I had such a great time today. And by today, I actually mean today. I met Danny and Victoria this morning at 8:30 AM for their one-year anniversary session, and I couldn’t get enough. I’m a strong believer that you should work on what you’re excited about, and I’m sure Danny and Victoria appreciate same-day turnaround as well ;)

Days like today give me goosebumps all over. As a photographer, I’m required to geek out about the light, right? BECAUSE OUR LIGHT WAS GORGEOUS! It started off so soft with the sun behind the clouds (95% of the time my preference), but then we had spurts when the rays would poke through, their energy dancing with the bare cedar in a waltz of golden hue. Absolute perfection.

Sure the light was great, but I can’t say enough about Danny and Victoria. Danny is the trunk; he’s gentle, caring, grounded, strong, and supportive. Victoria is the leaves; she’s energetic, bright, optimistic, and full of life. In fact, I think I relate to them so much because I describe my marriage with Becky in the same way. When Danny and Victoria look at each other, their eyes twinkle like fireflies skipping across a freshly cut lawn at dusk. Maybe that’s a weird simile, you’d understand if you’d see it!

AND THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS! I can’t thank Jenna and Skipp from Robertson Orchards enough for letting us have full rein of their beautiful orchard. I’m not accustomed to having blossoms this late in the season, but you could say it was the cherry on top of a perfect day.
